Important Jail Policies and Procedures

Inmates in good standing may have 2 general visitations on visitation days not including
attorney or clergy visits. Visits may last up to 20 minutes. Inmates will not be allowed more
than 40 minutes total visitation on any one day, not including attorney or clergy visits. There
shall be no more than three (3) visitors at a time. Children may visit when accompanied by an
adult who is considered their parent or legal guardian. Any person under 18 years of age is
classified as a child.

The Sheriff or his designee retains the right to deny a visit when it is believed that the
visit will endanger jail security or control. The visitation guard staff will evaluate the visitor and
inmate’s conduct during the visit. This information will be utilized for current and future visitation.

Visitors and inmates are expected to adhere to a code of behavior which is decent and non-offensive to other visitors, inmates and staff.
Visitors are not allowed to move about the room or visit more than one (1) inmate per visit.
Visitors will not tamper with or alter any animate or inanimate object in the visitor’s room.
Visitors must sign a visitor registration form before being allowed to visit an inmate.
This form will include the visitor’s name, reason, relationship, complete address and inmate’s
name.
Inmates shall be denied visitation unless visitor consents to search upon request, based on probable cause. Two forms of ID may be necessary. A photo ID is required.
A visit in progress may be terminated at any time for security reasons by jail staff.
Any variation of the visitation policy shall be cleared by the Sheriff or his designee.
