The Floyd County Jail is a 234-bed facility that houses pre-trial detainees and some convicted state offenders. The facility also holds Federal, ICE, and Military detainees as well.

Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Floyd County Jail are allowed video visitation with family and friends. All visits are recorded and subject to monitoring by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department. Any nudity or provocative clothing is strictly prohibited.

At-Home Visitation:
All visitors must schedule an appointment at least 24 hours in advance and pay for each scheduled session prior to the visit taking place. These are non-refundable.

On-site Visitation:
Each inmate is allowed one free 30-minute visit per month that is done on-site. This kind of visit is scheduled by availability and occur on Saturdays and Sundays only. To schedule a visit, the family member or friend must present the following information:

All visits can be scheduled online or in the front lobby of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office. All visitors must present a valid government-issued ID. They are subject to search of person. No more than 3 visitors at a time. All visitors must be registered at the same time when the visit is scheduled. All visitors are required to show up 15 minutes before the session is scheduled to start. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No personal items are allowed inside the facility with the exception of car keys and ID.

Inmates may also receive mail as long as it doesn’t violate any of the policies and procedures concerning inmate mail. Inmates are not allowed to receive materials that contain lewd or graphic content/photos, newspapers, magazines, blank paper, money, gang related materials, plastic, metal, stickers, etc.

A sex offender is defined as a person who has been found guilty of a sexually motivated crime such as rape, child pornography, and sex trafficking. Bail and Bondsman
