Mono County

The population of the county according to the 2010 census is 14,202 and it is the 5th least populous county in the state.  The county seat is Bridgeport. The county was named after Mono Lake and was founded in 1861. Mono Lake is derived from Monachi, a Yokut name for native peoples of the Sierra Nevada. The county is at the east part of Sierra Nevada between Yosemite Park and Nevada. The total area of the county is 3,132 square miles. The court was built in 1880 and it is presently being remodeled that comes with an addition of elevator so that wheelchairs can access the building.   The court has two judges, the Honorable Mark Magit, Presiding Judge, and the Honorable Stan Eller. The court also has two Commissioners, a Child Support Commissioner, David Knowles and a Pro Tem Commissioner, Mr. Gregg Martino. All non-judicial court operations and services are under the direction of the Court’s Executive Officer, Hector Gonzalez, Jr. Mr. Gonzalez also serves as the Clerk of Court and Jury Commissioner.

The Superior Court wants to preserve the rights and freedom given by the constitutions of California and the United States through consistency and partial interpretation.
