Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center are encouraged to maintain contact with family and friends through visitation. Inmates are responsible for scheduling a visitation using the in-house kiosk system. Once the visit has been scheduled and verified, the inmate is responsible for informing the visitor of the date and time of the visit. Inmates are allowed to schedule recurring visitations, the same time each week, for convenience.

Generally, male inmates have visitation on Saturday, female inmates have visitation on Friday afternoon. Male Admin Seg Inmates are also on Friday afternoon.

Bail and Bondsman

If a person is charged with a crime, he may be able to remain out of jail while the trial is still pending as long as he has posted bail. Bail is the money lodged with the court to secure the appearance of the defendant in court once the trial starts. If he fails to appear, he forfeits the money.

If a defendant cannot post the entire amount required by the court for any reason, he can still get temporarily released from custody by paying a bondsman 12% of the bail amount. In return for this payment, the bondsman can post the bond amount with the court to secure the release of the defendant.
